The Health Careers Program (HCP) Office -- Summer Science Institute (SSI) -- Apply November 1 - February 1

The Health Careers Program (HCP) Office, http://www.uthsc.edu/HCP, is offering an unpaid
two week Summer Science Institute (SSI) for incoming junior and senior high school students.
Outstanding high school students with strong academics, citizenship, community involvement, and

commitment to pursuing a career in the sciences are invited to apply. Classroom lectures, experiential

learning activities and exposure to the academic programs at The University of Tennessee Healt
Sciences Center (UTHSC) will be provided. Students will participate in a variety of activities such as:

• A fetal pig dissection
• Tours of local medical centers
• Career development workshops
• A community service project
• An introduction to research

Space is available under rolling admission until all spots are filled for both sessions.
